KITCHEN PREP COOK

We’re hiring a PREP COOK. Come join the Corner Kitchen’s culinary team in preparing fresh, local, and organic food for the community. The Corner Kitchen team creates our full lineup of grab-and-go items, including sandwiches, salads, and wraps, made fresh every day. Duties include efficient prep, production, and clean up. Important skills for this role include experience in a commercial or production kitchen, an awareness of kitchen equipment use and care, the ability to measure ingredients accurately with volume and weight measurements, basic knife handling skills, the ability to comprehend and follow a written recipe, excellent communication skills, and the desire to contribute to strong team cohesion.

This is a part time position, 21-28 hours per week, including one weekend day. Shifts start in the early a.m. Positions generally start at $18.25 in a wage range of $18.25- $22.25, depending on experience. NURSERY MANAGER

We have a unique opportunity for someone to join our team as our Nursery Manager. Our seasonal, on-site retail nursery specializes in locally grown edible plant starts, native plants, and ornamentals, and has a wide selection of organic-approved soils and amendments suited to the local area.

The person we seek is an experienced leader with knowledge of farming or growing, retail operations, and facilities or maintenance experience. Knowledge of organic agricultural practices, vegetable growing, fruit and nut trees, and Pacific Northwest natives is preferred. The Nursery Manager is responsible for leading the Nursery Team in the retailing, merchandising, sourcing, and purchasing of high quality plants, soil amendments, and other farming/garden related goods for retail sales to the public. 

Duties include prioritizing and delegating work, receiving shipments, establishing and upholding systems and protocols, staff training and development, and maintaining CCF quality standards.They will have experience supporting a vibrant team, interest in growing or farming, and a passion for the store’s role in supporting community food systems. 

The Nursery Manager fills a hands-on position, spending a large portion of their time working directly with the team to fulfill the day to day functions of the department. This is a part time position with hours fluctuating to full time during the peak of the growing season. Pay starts at $24/hr (wage range $24.00-$29.26), plus great employee discounts, dental and vision benefits, EAP, profit-sharing, and paid time off.
